Edouard Blais
B.Sc.
Description
Edouard is a geologist by trade that specializes in software development and geospatial data visualization. Edouard excels at working with intricate datasets to answer complex environmental questions, using ETL processes to manage and clean datasets and perform geospatial operations in order to create well organized databases. Edouard strives to create perfect end user experiences by using APIs for users to create tailor-made interactions with datasets and generate unique user interfaces with modern web practices. He draws inspiration from the natural world around him and enjoys solving complex technical programming puzzles in order to answer questions about the environment. Edouard has built a niche for himself in the geospatial field, pulling from his background in geology and earth sciences in order to provide the best data management of these datasets possible and build custom apps that enable people to visualize and understand more intuitively how their activities influence the world around them.

Habitat
Edouard is highly migratory, originating in Montreal, Quebec and traveling west across Canada on his hunt for geological formations. His hunger for rock features began in university when he met a group of arboreal primates that had evolved to prefer climbing rocks to trees, and he took to their way of life. On his journey across Canada, Edouard has worked in several provinces both in urban environments, helping to preserve and restore them to healthy, functional states, as well as working in near pristine and untouched environments in an attempt to better understand their natural geology. Currently, Edouard resides in Squamish, BC, where he spends his time exploring the surrounding geological landscape with his anthropoid friends. However, in order to nest in this area, Edouard spends less time hunting rocks and more time inside staring at a glowing box while in a fevered daze.

Life History
Edouard has undergone metamorphosis several times throughout his career, morphing spectacularly into completely different life forms each time. He began life in his pupal stage where he acquired a BA in Law from the University of Montreal. While this is a major accomplishment for many, this was an early form for Edouard who then molted and went back to school to receive a BSc in Earth Sciences, focusing on geology. After working as a geologist for several years and hunting the most elusive rocks in northern Ontario, Manitoba, and Quebec, Edouard molted once again and switched his focus to software development. In his current form, he is able to use his earlier experiences in geology and earth sciences to solve complex environmental questions with technical software development.

Predation/Conservation
Experts speculate that Edouard may undergo metamorphosis one more time in his life cycle, though there is disagreement amongst biologists as to what his final form will be. The most popular held belief is that he will develop suckers on his hands and feet in order to climb faster and harder routes than ever before.
